Sweetgreen Now Open in Long Beach

On January 20, 2026, Sweetgreen officially opened the doors to its newest location in Long Beach, California—the result of a tenant improvement project that began on August 11, 2025. JDE Construction & Facility Solutions (JDECFS) proudly served as the General Contractor, transforming an existing space into a complete Sweetgreen location and bringing the brand’s vision to life.

Supporting Sweetgreen Across Locations

At JDECFS, our work goes beyond individual build-outs. We offer comprehensive construction services, including tenant improvement (TI) projects, alongside ongoing facility maintenance and repair services. Sweetgreen is one of our valued long-term clients, and in addition to their brand new Long Beach location, we regularly support maintenance needs at other Sweetgreen locations.

Bringing Sweetgreen’s Vision to Life

For the Sweetgreen Long Beach project, we focused on converting an existing building into a modern, high-performing restaurant that aligns seamlessly with Sweetgreen’s brand standards and operational requirements.

The scope of work included a full interior tenant improvement build-out, along with key upgrades and enhancements throughout the space:

• Saw cutting, trenching, and removal of existing concrete

• Installation of all underground utilities and plumbing

• Framing

• Drywall installation and painting

• T-bar ceiling grid installation

• Flooring installation throughout the store, including EcoGrip flooring

• Door and hardware installation

• Mechanical system installation

• Retention of two existing rooftop units (RTUs) and replacement of one RTU

• Exterior wood shiplap installation

• Electrical work supporting Sweetgreen’s illuminated exterior signage

• Coordination and installation of a brand-new IK automated salad-making machine

These upgrades, combined with Sweetgreen’s signature exterior finishes, completed the clean, welcoming look of the Long Beach location.
